Tad

Tad is Labrador Retriever AKC Champion/Master Hunter number 30 ever in the history of the breed, living or dead!  Out of the over one million Labs living and registered, only about two per year achieve this incredible accomplishment.  Tad truly reflects the looks, temperament, and soundness for which we strive.  He has sired over 500 pups.  Some are AKC and Canadian show champions, some have hunt test titles up through Master Hunter, some have Obedience titles, one is well on her was to becoming an Agility champion, and all are family members and loving companions. 

Tad became an AKC show champion at 22 months of age.  He took the points several times from the puppy classes with John on the lead.  He finished quickly with back-to-back Best Of Winners in the supported entry shows following a specialty.

Tad has consistently placed well in Specialties, including taking two Judge's Awards of Merit (JAMs).

Tad received most of his field training and handling from John -- and this was John's first advanced field dog.  Despite the numerous mistakes John made, Tad completed his Master Hunter title the same way he ran -- with style -- with John at his side.  Tad is truly a joy to train and work in the field.  No dog ever gave more to please the one who loved him most.

Tad is an exceptionally sound dog, and he passes this soundness on to his pups.  Tad is OFA hips excellent, elbows normal.  His eyes are examined annually, and he is registered with CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation).  Tad also earned a Wind-Morgan number from the U.C. Davis veterinary school, indicating his hips, elbows, shoulders, and hocks -- all eight joints -- are normal.

Tad is B(y).  He stands approximately 23 1/2 inches (shoulder) and weighs about 87 lbs.  He produces pups that are short-coupled, with good structure and movement, and nice heads.
